I bought this phone on PAYG, as an upgrade from the S1 Skypephone. I'm using it to write this review, via my £5 monthly data allowance. I think it's a brilliant phone in terms of style, looks, usability and ease of handling. I've used a variety of phones across many price brackets, and this ticks all the boxes. The Skype software is a doddle to use, and keeps the usage costs to a minimum, as does the Windows Live Messenger (MSN). Both these applications are completely free to use, inasmuch as you don't need a data package to use them, although you need to top up with credit periodically to keep the Skype application active. The media player has album art support, unlike its predecessor, and the phone can take a memory card up to 4mb. Unfortunately the card goes underneath the battery, rather than in a side slot, so it's tricky for people who remove the card for use in a card reader. This is the only fault I've found. Still at £70 each or 2 for £100 it's a fault I can overlook. All in all, I'm impressed. |
