The Desire HD is a bigger, more powerful version of the best selling HTC Desire and offers a bigger screen, faster processor and better camera.
Sporting a 4.3 inch 480 x 800 pixel display, an 8 mega pixel camera with 720p HD video support, DLNA sharing and dual LED flash and the Android 2.2 operating system all run by a speedy 1GHz processor with 768MB of RAM the HTC Desire HD is a very capable smart phone.
Inside is 1.5GB of memory which can be expanded with MicroSD cards, the HTC Sense user interface, Wi-Fi, 3.5G support, Bluetooth and GPS with Google Maps all wrapped up in a sleek aluminium uni-body which is strong and lightweight.
Overall dimensions are 123 x 68 x 11.8mm with a weight of 164g, there's also a good sized 1230mAh battery running the show.

What we think of the HTC Desire HD:

This phones large screen was a breakthrough for HTC who have since gone on to make phones with similar sized screens much lighter and smaller, if weight and size is not an issue then the HTC Desire HD is now very affordable and offers all of those Android features at a budget price.
This large screened Android device has since been upgraded with the release of a number of new models, firstly the HTC Desire S with its smaller screen offers extra speed, then the HTC Sensation could be seen as the natural upgrade to this HD edition, since then we've seen the launch of the speedy and sleek HTC Sensation XE and the large screened HTC Sensation XL models as well as the brand new Android 4.0 'One' series which includes the top-end HTC One X, the mid-range, super-sleek HTC One S and affordable little HTC One V with its unique 'chin' design.
